Every year, Schaeffler sends hundreds of thousands of consignments of goods around the world by ship, rail, air and truck. The company ships around 20,000 standard containers in a year – this corresponds to the capacity of a container freighter of the currently largest ship class. But which means of transportation and which transport route is the cheapest, most reliable and fastest? And as climate-neutral as possible? Until now, logistics employees have had to rely on various data and tools to determine this. For some years now, these tasks have been handled by the Transportation Data Cube (TDC). As a practical example of successful digital logistics, the presentation focuses on the use of the Transportation Data Cube for the effective interpretation of data. It examines how the targeted analysis of this data model enables well-founded decision-making and optimization in the field of transportation. The focus is on how this data provides precise insights and impetus for action to increase efficiency and performance in the transportation sector. In this session you will learn,
